Greek contacts don't synchronise with PocketPC

Using Outlook 2003 (unicode .pst) with activesync 4.0 and PocketPC 4.20.
I can use the greek alphabet in contact names on the PC and on the PDA, but
when I synchronise them, they appear as '??????' on the other machine. This
happens in either direction. Is there anything I can do to transfer them
correctly?
