Gridlines in Excel

Hi: I don't think my first message posted. I am using XP. I have a word
document that was originally created in word then saved in Excel then
re-saved in Word again. I cannot get rid of the gridlines in the document.
If I use tools, hide/show gridlines they do in fact disappear however the
size of the document remains the same. The size is the problem as I am
trying to save this document to disk and the lines (seen or unseen) are
making the file much too big. I should note that I have sent this document
to another user that has XP and she does not see the gridlines and the
document is much smaller for her. I'm thinking maybe there is some setup on
my computer that is causing this because if she saves the smaller document
and sends it back to me, when I open it the size is still large on my
computer even though I have done the "hide gridline" thing.

Thanks for your help!
Tricia
