Grouping messages by read/unread

Depending on your version of Outlook, which you decided to withhold from us,
you can use the Unread Mail search folder...

Sorry about that - Outlook 2007.

I am not interested in "searching" - I wanted a permanent/customized view of
my messages grouped by the items I've read and those I haven't read.

Any suggestions?

The Unread Mail Search folder doesn't "search" as such - it's a permanent
folder in your Favorites pane that shows ALL unread mail....

I think Gordon's approach is as close as you'll come. I don't believe the
"unread" attribute is a groupable value.
