Grouping objects then moving the group produces ghost image undern

I'm using Office Professional 2003 SP3 with Vista Home Premium and having an
issue in PowerPoint. When I group two objects (like a text box and an
imported graphic/picture), and move the grouped object (either with mouse or
by using arrows on keyboard) duplicate images of the individual objects are
created and left in place. I have to go back and delete each copied
object...sometimes more than once....which is really a pain. I found a
thread dated 4/11/08 that seems to deal with the same issue, but the solution
posted there does not work here. Can anybody help with this?

Echo,

Thanks for the response....this method seems to have solved my problem. The
other post I referred to originally said the same thing, however I think I
might have followed the instructions with PowerPoint open and minimized, then
just maximized. The program has to be closed when this task is performed,
then opened. Should have thought of that!

You might try this:

Office shapes move or duplicate themselves when I click them (VISTA)
