Grouping using two columns of data...

Morning,

I have two columns of data, large numbers of data, three full sheets.

Column A has account names

Column B has transaction dates

We have multiple transaction dates for the same account names, how do
group whatever the greatest date is for that one account?

What I'm trying to find out is what the last activity date is pe
account. So ideally I would like to see the result as the account nam
listed once with the last activity date of that account.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

1. A formula approach: Enter the following array formula
(entered with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER)
=MAX(IF(A1:A1000="account1",B1:B1000))

2. you may consider using a pivot table for this. See
