Grouping WordArt objects in OfficeXP

I was able to shift-click on WordArt objects in W2K and
group them, I've not been able to figure out how to do
that in XP. Shift-click doesn't work, I can highlight
them but then don't have a grouping option or I can select
ONE object, right click and get a grouping option but the
methods are all greyed out and unavailable. I've been
trying to figure this out for ages and can't find anything
on the web to help me. Anyone here know?

In Word 2002 and 2003, WordArt objects are In Line With Text by default. Try
changing the wrapping to a different style, and then you should be able to
group them.

So, not knowing this I've created a page with 8 or 10
separate WordArt objects. The only way for me to alter
these is one by one since I didn't know to change the
default in the beginning...am I understanding correctly?
And do you know if there is a way to change that default
setting at all or will I just need to put that in
my "thinking cap" to change at the beginning of my future
WordArt projects?

Thanks a lot for your reply!!

It's not that tricky to change the wrapping. Click on a WordArt object; this
displays the WordArt toolbar. Click on the Text Wrapping button (dog icon)
and select a different wrapping style. To change the default wrapping style,
select it on the Edit tab of Tools | Options.
