I recently upgraded to XP and Office 2003 and I am having trouble sending
email. My pop and smtp settings are the same as before and incoming email is
arriving just fine. I am not getting an error message and the test settings
are functioning ok (I've received the test email from the test area under the
account settings). The Outlook Send/Receive command is just lingering on
until it times out.
One clue is that my outbox will contain say 15 msgs and when the status bar
shows how many messages are outgoing, it will read 'sending 1 of 38.' I
suspect this has something to do with hidden read receipts and perhaps that
is what is jamming up my outgoing mail? If so, how can I cancel those read
replies since they are not appearing in my outbox?
Any other suggestions? My pop and my smtp are different (smtp is through my
ISP, MSN) but that has never been a problem the past several years.
