Header / Footer Question

I'm trying to get a reference field to work in the footer of a document...
Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

Any assistance is MUCH appreciated.

A field. I'd like to enter the data into one field in the body of the form,
and then have all of the REF Fields popluate automatically. Unfortuantely,
the Header and Footer aren't cooperating. When I hit CRTL + F9, it looks
right, but when I leave the footer it blanks out.
