Help! I need to update multiple contacts with the same field info

Replacing Fields with Multiple Contacts

Please help ... Does anyone know how to update a single field on multiple
contacts without open each contact separately? (i.e. A User-Defined Sales
Priority Field). I have 1000 contacts that need the number 1 in that field.
How do I do this without spending hours opening, updating, and closing each
client separately.
