Help in Excel

When I press F1 for help, all I get is a white screen. The help on disk nor
online will come up. If I put in the URL, help comes up. This is new. Any
idea what's happening?

Excel 2003..........help>detect and repair

Excel 2007.........office button>excel options>resources>run diagnostics.
