HELP: Task Calendar won't have any effect!

T

Teres

Dear all,

I'm new to Microsoft Project and now learning it by "Step by Step Courseware
Microsoft Project2000", Core Skills Student. I tried the Lesson 4 practice
file. Actually, it creates Task claendar and apply it to the task. I tried
to create a new calendar, Tools> Change Working Time > New. I called the
calendar as "Evening shoot" with Non default working hours 17:00 to 23:00.
After applying it to a task which original started at 8:00am, time doesn't
change! What's wrong of it? There is icon showing it has adopted this
evening shoot calendar!

Please advice and thanks for advanced!

Hi Teres,

A couple of questions:

When you say you changed the working hours to 17:00 to 23:00, did you change
the working hours for all working days (select the M through F column
headings) or did you just change the working time for a particular day?

Are there resources assigned to the task? If you did not select "Scheduling
ignores resource's calendars" and the resource's working time ends at 17:00,
the resource calendar will still over rule the task calendar.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
