I have set up a spreadsheet, with employee records, that will have link
to multiple spreadsheets. The conv neiton for links will be to refe
to the employee's deaprtment, which is contained in column F. I wan
to build a formula that says, go to file c:\...\[Department Name.xls
and gives the celol reference (which will be the same as the curren
cell (so, the formula will be in cell U5 and copied down to about U400
I want to go to the same intersection [Cell U and row as the curren
row]) and retrieve the value.
Is there an easy way to do this? I was thinking of using concatenate
but it does not work; it only returns the text string that I entered
and not the value found in the target cell.
Thanks
