Help with choosing student/teacher or std office 2003?

Hello,
I am hoping you can help me choose either the Student/Teacher or standard
version of Office. I am attracted by the low price of S/T, but am concerned
that perhaps some software functionality is missing or that if I sent files
to people who use a non-edu version that there will be compatabilty issues.
Is this the case? Is the S/T software exactly the same as standard Office
2003 software?

I understand that S/T can't be upgraded - is that a huge deal? Is a new
version of Office planned soon? I have run Office 2000 for a while and it
seems OK to me, but I can't find the disks and think I need to start over and
am trying to save $$ if possible, but don't want to be penny wise and pound
foolish.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!
