Help with synchronization please

I get the following error when trying to synchronise:

"Synchronization with the offline folder file could not be completed. The
attempt to log to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed."

I have found a Microsoft Knowledge Base article number 170647 but this
refers to Windows 95 and I am using Windows 98 and it does not appear to
apply. Can anyone help with information please.

What version of Outlook? Do you see anything in the synch log in deleted
items? How big is the OST file?

I am using Outlook 97

Nothing appears in deleted items

The original .OST file was 22,352KB until I disabled it to create a new one
which is now 48KB

OK, so that isn't too big - are you still having problems with the new OST
file? Is anyone else on this same Exchange server having problems?

It's just the same with the new file, unfortunatley as the offices are
closed for the holidays I can't check if anyone else has this problem.
