I keep getting a messge welcoming me back and telling me if I am not
myself--and I am, I promise--that I should sign out and sign in again. How
do I respond???

Welcoming you back to what? MS's newsgroup site? If so, and you are you, you
don't have to respond. Just be yourself. And if you're someone else, then
sign out as you and sign in as the other you.

(I really need some sleep!)

Depending on what site/application is doing the welcoming, it sounds
like it could be spyware that is phishing for your userid/password.
I'd run a spyware scanner such as Spybot, Ad-Aware and/or MS
AntiVirus.

Sites such as Amazon.com always have that message when you go to their site. You
don't have to answer anything. If you want this message to go away, delete the site
cookie.

I suspect you are referring to how you are accessing the newsgroups?
If you are using the web interface access on the Microsoft web site
then this message is there for those who may have logged in using a
public computer and forgot to log out.

If who they are "welcoming back" is you then you don't need to do
anything. If someone else is logged in then click the "Sign-out"
button to log them out and then click the "Sign-in" button to log
yourself back in.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
