Hiding Subproject summary tasks?

Is there an option in MS Pro 2003 to only show some summary tasks that I want?

I don't want the Project Summary Task to show so I uncheck this in
Options>View.

I have a massive master project with lots of subprojects and when you look
at the Gannt View there are many summary tasks. I only want to show the
summary tasks within the subproject (Tasks) and not the 'mini' project
summary task for the overall subproject if that makes sense.

If you want more info please ask. Sorry to be so inconvenient with my
questions.

Thanks

The easiest way to get what you want it to use a Custom field and a
Custom filter. For what you want, a boolean (yes/no or true/false)
field will work fine. Add one to a table (or create a custom table for
this) and then mark the tasks you want to show yes, leave the others
no. Then create a filter that filters out the "no"'s.

hi again,

yes I understand what you mean by boolean's etc. But how do you do it? Can
you give me a guide on how to do it please. No need to be very detailed.

Thanks ever so much!

To add a custom field to an existing table, do a View, Tables, More
Tables and pick the one you want and click Edit. You'll see each column
in the table is a row in this view. Add an additional row, and select
Flag1 for the new field (or any other flag you like). Close and "apply"
the table.
Under Project, Filtered for, More Filters, select "New". Name your
filter. You could call it Flag1, but a more meaningful name is better.
You want to filter "Flag1" for yes. Check "Show in menu". Save and
close the filter.
In your modified table, put "y" in the Flag1 column on tasks you want
to see after you apply the filter. Then do a Project, Filtered for, and
select whatever you named your filter. There you go!
Hope this helps in your world.

Thanks for that!

If I grouped the tasks by 'Project', 'Resource Initials', 'Outline Number'.
Can I still 'flag' the summary tasks there? Or is there another way to do it?
