Highlighting within a Presentation

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the mouse as a sort of
highlighter during a presentation? Instead of using a laser pointer,
you could circle a bullet point with the mouse and create a yellow
circle or something? Is this possible?

While in Slide Show Mode, press CTRL-P to turn your mouse into a pen. There
you can draw on your slide with your mouse. If you want to change the pen
color, before going into Slide Show Mode click "Slide Show", "Set up show",
and change the pen color.

There are a bunch of other neat shortcuts you can learn while in Slide Show
mode by pressing the F1 key in Slide Show mode. You will see a help screen.
Commit it to memory! You'll impress your audience!

Yes, there are some nice shortcuts that you can use during the Slide Show.
One I especially like is Ctrl+T to activate the Windows Task Bar in case you
need to retrieve or view something else during the show. It also gives you
the capability of running "multiple shows" and "toggling" between them via
the Task Bar.

note: You will NOT be able to use the shortcuts if your show is set to run
in "kiosk mode".
