History of Word document

Need to know how to check history of a document (all modifications/changes
and which users). Tracking feature was NOT used but I need to see if
document was changed by another user. Reviewing toolbar was of NO help.

There is no way to do this, though opening it with "Files of type" set to
"Recover text from any file" may yield some results.
