hit counter viewing

I have set up a hit counter and it is not working - when I go online it just
shows an image of a box with an x on it and the "hit counter" words - how do
I get the numeric value to show - obviously I am not a pro at this - please
help

You must Publish to a Server that has FP Extensions installed. Otherwise
it wont work and you will get that message instead.

Dear Jens, I have already published the site, in fact it has been on line for
months - www.heyokamagazine.com. I am wondering if I am supposed to select
the picture box and name it (even though I have selected a hit counter style
that is provided by Front Page. Any suggestions? Thanks, Lyn
