New to frontpage
My web server doesnt support frontpage extensions
where or how do I get a simple hit counter onto my web

Yes done that
Trouble is they all want me to register and will then probably add pop ups
or ill start getting a load of crap.

A hit counter of any description requires server-side processing and data
storage, FrontPage uses the FP extensions for this. No third party will
provide a hit counter for free - popups and/or "loads of crap" is the price
you pay.

Have you asked your host if they provide a hit counter for your use?

I have a hit counter at a web site I coordinate for USGENNET. They said to
do this:

Copy and paste the line below into your document where ever you want your
counter. Change the [ ] to <> to activate.

You are the [!--#exec cgi="/cgi-bin/counter-ord"--] Visitor to this Site.

I have no idea if this works with FP.
