Hit counter

G

Griff

Sorry if this is a FAQ.

Just published my first website for my model club and added a Hit Counter to
the Home Page.

It does not seem to be registering hits and I seem to remember someone
telling me that these counters were not that reliable, is this so and what
is the best way around the problem.

Thanks.

Griff.

Open the live web in FrontPage.
Remove the hit counter.

With FrontPage open:
File | Open Web (or, if FP 2003, Open Site

and enter the appropriate URL for your web, such as
http://www.mydomain.com

In the Open Web dialogue box there is Look in at the top where my Web file
appears and Web Name at the bottom of the dialogue box.
If I enter my URL in the Web Name box I only get an error message saying
that the file name, location or format is not valid.
Am I entering the URL in the right box?
I am not on line when I do it.

Thanks,

Griff.

You *must* be online in order to connect to your remote web.

Where do I enter my URL?
Can't seem to find any boxes which will take it in File | Open Web.
Thanks again,
