I have much things to do than to read 'internet forums', whatever
they are, like my job.
Nothing else I use requires me to keep finding out what's wrong with
it, why it doesn't work, or to keep buying or collecting extra bits
that the manufacturers were too lazy or incompetent to get right the
first time - my lawnmower doesn't suddenly need an update, or require
me to pay the manufacturer again so it keeps working - and I can just
imagine the reaction if I went back and said 'by the way, I know I
charged the full price originally, but I've got to bill you again'.
I think it's about time that computers started to operate in the same
real world and universe as the rest of us.
Well, if you're like most people, you never paid for your Hotmail account in
the first place, so why complain about something that was free going away?
And most lawn mowers DO suddenly need an update. It's called "sharpening
the blade", "buying gasoline", "getting a tune up", and so on. You
certainly don't get those free (except, perhaps, for the blade, but then you
have to buy the tools to sharpen it). I'm always amazed when people squawk
when something that was free now costs, like they're being robbed or
something.
