Hours per day in Resourse usage view is inconsistent

I have changed my clanedar, resourses, etc., to reflect a work week of 6 days
per week, 10 hours/day. When I assign resources to the tasks, I am not
getting 10 hours alloctaed for the first day. For instance, for the crew to
mobilize, I assign everyone to the 1-day task. Under the resourse usage
view, it gives me 8.5 hours the first day and 1.5 hours the second.

On longer tasks, say like 12 days, it will assign 8.5 hours for the first
day, 10 hours for 11 days, and 1.5 hours for the 13th day. The total number
of hours worked is correct, but the duration is skewed.

All my tasks are duration fixed and not effort driven. This is driving me
crazy!!

You need to look at the time of day the task starts. If it does not
start at the very beginning of your work day, then Project CANNOT
schedule the full 10 hours for that day.

Sarah gave you one thing to check. Also, look at the Tools / Options /
Calendar page and verify that entry for Hours Per Day agrees with the
definition of a "day" in the Project Calendar.
