How can I add a counter function to a word document

R

Rich Pohland

I want to print out a form with pre-defined numbers.
How do I get a counter function that increments a new number each page or
each time I print it out?
I want to also be able to set a starting number for the form.

You could use a SEQ field. Look it up in Word Help under "seq field" ("Field
codes: Seq (Sequence) field"). You could also use outline numbering linked
to styles.

Page numbering is usually handled using the PAGE field.

You may want to look at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/NumberDocs.htm.
