How can I attach a word document or PDF file to a shape

I need to documernt a small network and all of it's systems. I want to use
Visio to draw and layout everything. I also want to be able to attach
documents to these objects which contain all the information about the items.
Is there a way of attaching word documents or PDF files to shapes?
