I married the former "Mickey Cobb" from Denver, Colorado 28 years ago and we
are still happily married. Maybe you two are related.
Let me try to answer your question. If you have no actual progress entered
into the plan, and simply need to change the Start date of the project,
click Project - Project Information and specify the new Start date for the
project that is one month later than the previous Start date. All tasks
will be rescheduled appropriately.
If your project has no actual progress entered into the plan, but does have
inflexible constraints such as Finish No Later Than (FNLT) or Must Finish On
(MFO), then you will need to use the Adjust Dates feature on the Analysis
toolbar. To use the Adjust Dates feature, complete the following steps:
1. Click View - Toolbars - Analysis
2. Click the Adjust Dates button
3. TYPE a new Start date for the project and click OK
Using this method, MS Project will set the new Start date in the Project
Information dialog box AND will adjust any task constraint dates for you
automatically.
If you have actual progress entered on some tasks, and need to delay the
uncompleted tasks by 1 month, try the following:
1. Click Tools - Tracking - Update Project
2. Select the "Reschedule uncompleted work to start after" option and then
specify the date AFTER which work will resume on the project
3. Click OK
Microsoft Project 2002 will set a Start No Earlier Than (SNET) constraint on
every task whose % Complete is 0% and will delay the entire task until the
day after the date your specified. Any task that has actual progress, but
whose % Complete is less than 100%, will be split and the uncompleted work
will be scheduled to resume the day after the date you specified. Hope this
helps.
