How can I change the design template to a blank template in power.

I have a design template on a presentation. I want to have a few blank
background slides with a solid color background fill but can't find any
buttons that allow me to do this. Any suggestions?

go to the first of the blank slides you want

Format menu > background > tick "omit background graphics"

then click the "drop down" that currently has the background color.
click 'more colors'
choose your solid color
click ok
send chocolate
