How can I display both inbox and calender at once?

Is there a way to display both my inbox and calender on the same screen?
Generally, I don't need all of the Reading Pane and would like half of that
to display at least part of my calender.

Can't do that. Open the calendar in a new window and tile it with the
Inbox.

In Outlook 2007, turn on the "To-Do Bar" view.

Alternatively, in any version of Outlook, take B.T.'s advice by
right-clicking on the calendar and choosing "Open in New Window". (There are
other ways too.)

You do this by selecting
a.view
b. To do bar
c. Normal
In order to save those settings you will need to exit outlook by selecting
file then exit. Then when you open outlook next time it will open with the
new settings that you just configured
