Hello everyone I have a question for the board. How does one merge documents
created in Publisher with Documents created in Word? I am using the 2003
edition. I wrote a book proposal used word to create the proposal and
Publisher to create the book chapters. How can I combine all these into a
single file? Any info that can be provided will be appreciated. Thanks in
advance.

Which one would you reccomend in your opinion? I could use either which would
be easiest to use?

What *I* would do may not be an option for you. I would convert both
documents to .pdf files and use Acrobat to combine them. (I know that
PrimoPDF will not allow you to combine files. I honestly don't know about
other products.)

Converting files from one program to another is never a clean process. Is
there a reason why they must be combined into a single file?

Well is there a way I can combine them all into one attachment? I am
submitting to a literary agent and they want everything in one file or
attachment. Can I copy and paste into word from publisher without losing
formatting?

If you're sending to an agent, I would say Word first, with pdf a second
choice.

I think I will do everything in Publisher seeing I can create the proposal in
publisher along with the Chapters how can I merge all the publisher documents
together?

Copy/paste is the only way you can merge Publisher documents. You are better off
using Word. Your agent will more than likely have Word. As Ron advised, Word
first, PDF is the second choice.

Your agent will not have Publisher to open your file, that would leave you
having to output Publisher file to PDF which is fine but not easily
editable. I would use Word, which your agent is very likely to have, that
way he can annotate the actual file if he wants to and sent it back to you.

Thanks for the advice everyone now I have a real stupid question for posters
here, I am a novice at creating PDF files so could someone here kindly
advise what steps to take? I have adobe reader 7.0 on my PC and did a google
search and found pronto PDF was a free universal method to use. I dont have
acrobat could adobe or pronto be used to convert files in publisher to PDF?
Again I am know it might sound stupid to some here. Also as a side note I am
a man the literary agent is a woman.

========================================
Try this...

Download and install the following free PDF Creator.

PrimoPDF
http://www.primopdf.com/

With your new program installed...open your project
in Publisher and go to...File / Print.

On your Print screen...open the drop window and
select PrimoPDF as your printer.

Click...OK...now you will see the PrimoPDF screen
and you can browse to a save folder.

When you click...OK..your .pdf file will be created
in your save folder.

The resulting .pdf file can be viewed on any computer
that has the free Adobe Reader installed.

I want to thank everyone that has helped me out I finally learned how to
create a PDF File. Is there a way to merge these PDF created in Primo? I
still need to put them together in one attachment. Again I want to thank
everyone here for their advice.

No, there isn't. That's what I said earlier. If this is a one time thing, I
will offer to combine them for you. I have Acrobat Pro and can do that
easily. If you wish to accept the offer, you may contact me at jl dot paules
at gmail dot com.
