How can I programatically get the names of MS-Project's ganttbar styles?

Others may have been successful, but I have not.

I'm betting that you want to create a new gantt bar style but don't want to
"blow away" any others so you look for potentially duplicate names. I had
this issue but finally gave up and used unique style names for each of the
bars/symbols I put on the gantt chart. (I put my company name in the bar
style like "OakMergeEndDate" then each time I needed that bar style, I would
delete "OakMergeEndDate" then recreate it)

Sorry :-(

Please don't cross-post.

Apologies, HOWEVER I find that preferable to posting to one group, getting
zero useful replies, waiting a few days, posting to the next, etc. etc.
Crossposting at least shortens the pain & frustration.

I really do see your point, however I can only suggest you get a newsgroup
reader able to simultaneously show multiple groups, so that you won't see
the message several times in several groups. Sorry.

That is very selfish, Roland! Most of the Project newsgroups are read by
most of the experts. If I reply to you and then find the other experts have
also replied in the other groups you are wasting their and my time -
remember we are all volunteers and give of our time freely. Please rethink
your strategy. If you are getting no response from one group, check that
you are posting to the correct group, try again or then try a different
group. Maybe you get no response because nobody reading you has a response
to give.

Roland,
I'm with Mike on this and I belive my answers have been definitive. Please
don't cross post the Project news groups - this is common netiquette - like
not using ALL CAPS in a post or covering your mouth when you sneeze.

If you've got a developer problem, post the question in the developer news
group. Many that help in the "Project" group do not do development - why
waste their time?

If you've got a tool function or general question, post in that group...

If is MS Project programming problems/questions then "Developer" is your
group - (the VBA group is slowly phasing out of use)

The add_in group does not get much traffic...and I'm not sure but I don't
belive there are any "Add-in MVPs" - you'll probably get better help from
VB.general or Delphi

Mike:

As I have said previously, I do see your point, and I certainly appreciate
the time and effort.

However, please understand that I do my homework: I think about the problem
carefully, I search both web and newsgroups for possible solutions, I try
different approaches... and only when I hit the wall do I finally post a
question. So the chances of someone knowing an answer (and yes Mike, I do
post to the relevant newsgroups, kindly give me some credit for not being a
complete idiot...) I haven't been able to find are slim -- indeed, perhaps
there simply is no answer. Thus my strategy.

As interesting as this discussion is, I must sadly remark that your posts
have so far NOT got me any closer to the answer I seek...
