How can i save a file in two different locations

O

Hi,
saving in multiple locations takes up too much of my time whilst i'm
working. One action would really help.

There's no "one click and you're done" solution to your issue.

Seriously, doing a save and a save as only take moments. If your job is so
short on time that doing that is a severe hindrance, perhaps it's time to
look for a position where you have those few moments. My heavens, how do you
find time to visit the bathroom? (I don't need a response to that question.)

I had to think a moment about the laptop thing. ;-)

I still maintain that if one's job is so time-critical that doing that is a
"waste of time", then there are other issues going on. I would save it in
one location and then create a Send To in the short cut menu. Or I would
work on the file in one location and at the end of the day/editing session,
copy it over to the second location.

JoAnn,

It's one of the benefits of having a laptop. (Not a pretty picture).

More seriously, could be one file location is on the D drive, a dozen
folders deep and the other location is on an E drive, a dozen folders
deep.

I didn't think that it was possible to save to multiple locations
simultaneously..

It's the saving to multiple locations at the same time that's the issue. I
keep seeing that as a potential problem with different versions.

That's the point. The OP stated "saving in multiple locations takes up too
much of my time whilst i'm
working" and was looking for a one-click solution.

I really hate redundant files so I'm glad it can't be done.

You can, however, add multiple folders to the shortcut menu on the left of
the Save As dialog.

(Having one file with multiple places within the file system was one of the
things that was supposed to be made possible in Longhorn by WinFS)

Where would one find information on writing macros?

c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\1033\VBAPB10.CHM

(Replace c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\ with your Office or Publisher
folder, 11 with 10 if you're running Publisher 2002 and not 2003 (or 12 if
you happen to be running the beta of 2007 Microsoft Publisher), and 1033
with your language ID if you're not using a US English version of
Publisher.)

Don't have file; I have Publisher 2000. Did a search for VBA and
nothing came close to the file you suggested. Next, I'll give google
a try.

You can't use macros or VBA in Publisher 2000, hence the lack of the support
files.
