how can I search MDI files in My Documents

When I use the Search function in a My Documents window, selecting "All files
and folders", then entering text in the "A word or phrase in the file" box,
the resulting search does not return any MDI files. I have tested this with
words that I know are in MDI files in the chosen directory.

I use MDI files as temporary storage of web pages, and need to access the
contents.

Any ideas why this is happenning?

try it with *.mdi in the files & folders box, then whatever word int he
word/phrase box, see if that works.
