How can I set up a list of events for contacts?

How can I set up a list of tasks/events I want to schedule for my contacts?

Example-
I have a new client. I may want be sure I schedule a thank you card, send a
card on his birthday, send a reminder 12 months down the road, etc.

New Prospects- I want to make sure I get a proposal done in two days. A
follow-up phone call in 1, 2, or more days, send a letter with brochures and
my card, e-mail a thanks for contacting us note, etc.

I'd like to be able to have these things be scheduled when I identify this
person/company as a new client or prospect.

Is there a way that this can be done in MS Outlook with Business Contact
Manager?
