How disable footnote macros so I can use translation software

I am trying to translate a german footnoted document using Systran (very good
software) but due to the macros in the footnote function, Systran trys to
translate the footnote balloons within the text of the document. Simply, how
do I disable the macros in the footnotes?

There are no macros in footnotes. Your translation software is apparently
trying to keep the footnotes with the related text, which isn't a bad idea.
