How do I add indicators in the indicators field (ie completed)?

I am trying to add a completed and notes indicator in the indicator field and
cannot remember how to do this.

If you add a note to a task or mark a task 100% complete, the
appropriate indicator automatically appears.

Of course! And I've never hunted for my glasses for 10 min only to find
