How do I avoid Identity check when starting Outlook 2003

Each time I start Outlook 2003, it displays an Identity Login and asks for
my password. I can cancel and continue but it is an extra step. I also have
Outlook Express and I prefer the Identity/Password check for it.
How can I avoid the Identity check on Outlook and still have it on Express?

Are you saying you don't want Outlook to connect to your mail server? If
that's the case, remove the mail account from Outlook or change Outlook to
work offline (File>Work Offline)

I want Outlook to connect to the mail server. I just don't want to deal
with the Identity check message I keep getting when I initiate Outlook.

Are you saying that Outlook asks for mail server credentials every time you
connect even though you've told Outlook to remember them?

Every time I start Outlook from scratch, I get the Identity Login billboard
with my Outlook Express identity name inserted. I Cancel and Outlook works
fine but it is a nuisance. When I start Outlook Express, I get the same
billboard. I have to select the identity and log in with my password, which
is the way I prefer to operate Express.

I don't know what you mean by "billboard". Are you referring to a popup?
Can you post a picture or a link to a picture of it?

I sent a picture to (e-mail address removed). Hope it helps.

I received the picture. I see you have Norton Antispam installed. A Google
search for the problem identifies Norton Antispam as one of the causes of
this. Symantec's products often don't play well with Outlook and/or Outlook
Express.

You did not see Norton Antispam installed. You saw an empty Outlook folder
labeled Norton Antispam Folder. My problem is not related to Norton which
had been installed and removed before this problem started. In spite of your
attempts, you have been no help to me at all on this issue. Thanks anyhow.

Which is created by Norton Antispam.

I had no way of knowing.

True. However, there's nothing stopping you from reading the many articles
that Google finds when searching for the symptoms you described.
