How do I cancel a task

I would like to cancel a task and have the resources not burden the project
from a percent complete, etc. But I would like to leave the task in the WBS
so that I don't lose visibility into the tasks that were originally put into
the WBS.

Hi,

Put duration of the tasks to 0 and in Task Information, Advanced, cross out
"Mark Task as Milestone".
Clear the resoruce Names field.
