How do i change a pic in BMP to JPEG?

JPEG is a bit mapped image, albeit a compressed one. You will need a
graphics package capable of handling both formats to make the conversion.

Hi Graham,

Is it possible to Microsoft Paint to insert one type of picture and save it,
without modification, to another format?

If you open the BMP in Paint you can save it as jpg, but without
modification? jpg is a lossy compressed image format so there will be some
image degradation.

Hi Graham,

I just read my message and English wise I must have been asleep. I noticed
that you questioned without modification. I assumed that once in paint you
could modify the BMP.

Must be my turn to be asleep. I am not sure what you are asking now. You can
either edit the bitmap or change the format using paint, but if you change
it to jpg, which is a lossy format, there will be some inevitable change
introuduced by the format change. How relevant this will be I will leave you
to judge.
