How do I change font to automatically be black on imported files?

When I import files into a Template design, all of the text turns white. I
have tried going to Master view and Font and clicking automatic and black and
checking the default for imported docs, to no avail. My company just changed
official templates and I have about 750 presentations I have to import into
new template. HELP! Thanks
