How do I change program association in Windows?

Access file with .ODE extension got associated with Quick Time. I don't
know how to disassociate it and reassociate it with the correct program.
Thanks in advance.

Assuming that you're using Windows 2000 or XP, right-click on on any file
with the .ODE extension, then select "Open with" and click on "Choose
Program". Scroll down though the list of programs until you come to
Microsoft Access, select it, check the "Always use this program to open
these files" box, and click OK. There may be other ways to accomplish the
same thing, but this should work.

Thanks, Gary, but I've already tried this dozens of times. Quick time comes
up and then a dialog box with a big red X! I also tried to Open Access, then
open the file ... still no luck.

QuickTime comes up when you right-click on the file and select "Open
with"? I've never seen that happen. Here's another way to get rid of the
old association: open Folder Options from the Control Panel, or within
Windows Explorer, click Tools, then Folder Options. Click the File Types
tab. Scroll down to the ODE entry in the box, highlight it, and click the
Delete button. Click "Yes" in the confirmation box, then OK. The
association for the ODE extension will be gone, and you'll be able to
establish a new one.
