How do I change the ALIGNMENT of cells in seperate columns?

Im trying to get a column of cells to move down half a cell, so that each
cell in the second column will be IN BETWEEN the cells of the previous (left)
column. Help!!

you cannot do that.

A way of making it look something like that is to put borders roun
several cells.
For example you can put borders round the outside of 2 cells in
column to make them look like a single, and offset the borders of set
of 2 cells in the next column.

Hide the usual cell borders via Tools/Options

I think you can do it Brian

if this is what is meant

example
COLUMN
A1 = in the
A2 = middle

B1 - put text or number here, highlight B1 AND B2 then right clcik an
format cells, allignment, click the vertical box to "distributed" an
further down tick the merge cells column then press ok, all you need t
do is centre it as you normally would with any text and it will be ban
in the middle of a1 and a2, this will put the text or number in th
middle of the two cells

Works for me :
