How do I change the default area code in contact manager?

When entering phone numbers into the contact manager the default area code
has somehow been changed. How do I change it back to my area code?

Check your default area code setting in Windows and make sure it is correct
there.

Your answer was helpful, however, I figured out what the problem was. I was
out of town and in a different area code and I was doing a dial-up commection
and by doing that the area code was changed and I didn't know it. I figured
out that in Outlook contacts by going to actions, call contact, new call,
then clicking dialing properties I was able to change the area code. Thank
you for taking the time to make a suggestion
