How do I copy exact page counts in Excel?

I am trying to copy a list file and change 2 columns around. When I copy and
paste or cut and paste, I end up with less pages. The margins are the same
and the cell heights are the same. So why do I end up with fewer pages? The
page breaks are the automatic ones put in by the program itself.
