How do I copy numbers from Word to Excel?

It's not a Word question but an Excel one. Paste your data into Excel and
then change the format of those cells.

When I right click on the pasted cells, I do not get the option Format the
newly pasted cells.

Are the "numbers" you're pasting in more than 11 digits? General formatting
will display them exponentially by default.

Go to Format> Cells, select Number, Accounting, Percent or Currency unless
you're using Office 2007. In Excel 2007 go to the Home tab of the Ribbon -
Number group then open the list displaying General & pick from there.
