How do I create a text box with brackets on either side?

I am trying to create a call-out text box that has square brackets on either
side of the box instead of the usual box outline. (ie. [ ] - imagine that
but larger). How do I do this?

Use the freeform line tool in AutoShapes. Press shift while you draw. Using and
snapping to grid guides will be helpful.

Ahh..I was hoping there was a built-in solution. Ok two more questions:

1. What does pressing Shift while I draw do?
2. How do I snap these lines (4 in total) to the text box itself? This way
if I move the box the added lines will be moved along with it.

Thank you for the assistance.

Pressing shift will get you straight lines. Select the box, Lines, more lines,
you can place lines on both sides of the box. You will have to manually draw the
horizontal parts. Select all and group.
