how do I create a work contour

A

Andy Gray

I am looking to level resources that are both over and underallocated.
Whilst one resource is working on more than one task, I reduce the effort on
both tasks to avoid over allocation. When one of the tasks has been
completed I would then like to increase the effort on the reaining task to
ensure that the resource is working at max capacity and that the task is
completed in the shortest time possible. How do I get Project to do this?

Hi Andy,

You may manually contour a resource's work on assignments in either the
Resource Usage view or the Task Usage view by typing in work. You may
also use one of the pre-defined work contours by double clicking on the
assignment (represented by the task name in the Resource Usage view) and
changing the contour in the assignment information dialog box.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
