How do I create an index, Word 2007?

I have a finished document. I want to create an index. Word 2003 apparently
had an automark feature. Is this available in Word 2007? Do you know of a
tutorial for indexing?

Yes, the same Automark feature is in Word 2007. On the References ribbon, click
the Insert Index button; the Automark button is in that dialog.

You might have expected it to be in the dialog from the Mark Entry button, but
if you look closely you'll see that dialog is the same one you reached in Word
2003 by clicking the Mark button in the Insert > References > Index dialog (and
that button is still on the Insert Index dialog). In other words, Microsoft
didn't change the dialogs at all, they just changed how you get to them, and did
it in a confusing way. ;-)

A detailed section on this is in MVP Herb Tyson's book, Microsoft Word 2007
Bible; an example is viewable at
