How do I delete a large email that is 1/2 sent but locks up?

I have a large (12mb) email that is slowing down Outlook. I can send other
emails out, but it takes forever. When I try to delete the offending file by
right clicking and hitting delete, nothing happens. When I try to move it to
another folder to delete (or even to stop trying to send), nothing happens.
When I double click the file, it says 'can not open - Outlook has already
begun transmitting message'.

File - Work Offline. Wait a couple minutes. Delete message.
If that fails, shut down outlook and restart while still offline, try to
delete message.
If that fails, post back since the instuctions get more complicated at that
point. =)
