how do I delete a MS Project pivot map

Vic

I have looked through the help files on MS project and in a couple of Excel
books but cannot find anything on how to do this. The maps may be stored on
SharePoint as the MS Project file I export to my desk top as an Excel pivot
table comes from there.

Hello Vic,

Are you referring to an export map which exports data out of Project and
creates an excel pivot table? If so, the export map is stored in the
Global.mpt file in Project. Go to Tools > Organizer and click the Maps
tab to view any export maps.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie,

Thank you for responding to my question. It does help as I am fairly new to
SharePoint and there is a lot to it. I generate the Pivot table from an MS
Project plan in SharePoint storing it to my desktop and then use it in Excel
2007. That works fine for me. Where I got into a mess is creating several
maps in an attempt to learn how they work. Now I need to get rid of the
extras and just save the one. I looked for the Global.mpt in SharePoint but
am not sure where it might be. I also may not have permission to get to it
directly. Ideas where I might look for it? Again thank you for you support.

Hi Vic,

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Sharepoint but I assume the map is
coming from MS Project, not SharePoint. The export map from project
(stored in the Global.mpt file) you can modify directly from within
Project.

Launch MS Project and go to Tools > Organizer and click the Maps tab.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie! You are fantastic! It worked great!! They are gone. Thanks so
much. It was really easy once I knew where to look.

Thanks again,

Vic
