Hi Nichols,

A bit tough to guess what default text you are talking about.
Please see FAQ # 33 "What the Gantt Chart Legend Shows" at:

http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

for information about the bars and text.

For information to the left, try File > Page Setup and the Legend tab.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

The default legend shows the file name and date and I cannot figure out how
to delete this information. Thanks.

Thanks, Julie,

I have tried the Page Setup, Legends tab - it shows the text but will not
let me delete or change it.

Hi Nichols,

Click the Left tab and click and drag across the text to delete.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Unfortunately, the text is not in the box that allows for editing. It is in
the "upper" display box and it will not allow me to edit or delete the text.
Thanks again for your responses.

Hi Nichols,

Okay. Let's start where we probably should have started ;-)

What version of MS Project are you using? Are you using Project Server?

In Project 2003 and 2002, when I choose File > Page Setup and click on
the Legend tab I have a Preview area that shows the Project name and the
Date. In the lower portion of the dialog box next to the word Alignment
I have 3 tabs, Left, Center, and Right. When I click on the Left tab
next to Alignment I see the text:
Project: &[Project Title]
Date: &[Date]

Is this similar to what you see?
